Nasuli Cold Spring Resort: Our summer paradise

Finding a new adventure this summer would always be fun. The search for an excursion, of course, appeared to be even more exciting for me since doing so would let me combat the stress brought about by this long-standing COVID-19 pandemic. And yes, I had enough – struggles and sufferings. For that reason, this summertime would permit me to visit a new place to take some time off and unwind.

And yes, my phone just vibrated. A friend on the other line might talk to me. So, I checked my phone, wondered why my friend wanted to talk to me, and called me this pandemic season for no valid reasons. My friend and I knew the stern quarantine protocols and social distancing policies. However, such a friend called me for an adventure of a lifetime.

And then, my phone rang again.

“Hi, what’s up?” I just asked. I was a bit excited though. He told me that he and his other friends would go on a day trip to Nasuli Cold Spring Resort.

“What about the quarantine protocols and the social distancing policies?” I asked again.

“Don’t fret. Don’t get panicked. Everything will be all right!”

Finally, I agreed. Anyway, I felt bored all year long. The COVID-19 pandemic did, however, prolong my agony and boredom. I had to go outside and feel the bliss and grace of nature. My fear of going outside waned. So, I asked when we would go. To my surprise, he said we would go two hours after our small conversation. He told me that he would pick me up. So, I had to pack my things up and prepare for my wallets for the expenses.

Well, Nasuli Cold Spring Resort was remarkable. My experience at the resort gave me chances to enjoy my life. One of my friends once told me that life is short. He told me that I should spend my life to the fullest. And yes, he would always be right. I would never have a chance to visit the places where I loved staying and traveling like Nasuli Cold Spring Resort.

Moreover, I took my first plunge. I confirmed that the water was cold. The feeling was nice though. However, I chose to keep all the details of excitement and fun since, for sure, you might have different shares of stories on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. However, the cold and revivifying water of Nasuli Spring Resort seemed a seamless means to celebrate life and enjoy my weekend hideaway. I remember a friend of mine who visited the place. Her name is Ms. Bren Gallardo, and she could be an excellent endorser of the resort. I bet! Her instagrammable and picture-perfect photo seemed astounding on social media sites like Facebook as she added glamor and grace to the resort. Maybe, next time, the resort would treat Ms. Bren and her friends, as well as Misamis Oriental Journal free cottage and other amenities for this article (I am just kidding! Who knows the resort would grant me). Ms. Bren Gallardo and her friend(s) highly appreciated the resort very much. Because of Ms. Bren and her friend(s), I decided to take a peek and celebrate life at Nasuli Cold Spring Resort at Barangay Bangcud, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

How Could We Get There

Well, we might ask how we could get there. We just needed to follow the trail.

    • Firstly, we could take a bus at Ecoland Terminal bound for Cagayan de Oro if we were in Davao City. We should tell the bus conductor to drop us off at Barangay Bangcud, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. We needed to make sure that we should go to Nasuli so that the driver could drop us off at the landmark of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Church. From there, we needed to ask for direction from the commercialized single motorcycle drivers to take a walk going to the resort. It would only take 1 kilometer to travel from the INC landmark.
    • Secondly, we could take a bus from Cagayan de Oro bound for Davao, Kibawe, Valencia, or Wao. We needed to inform the bus conductor to drop us off at the landmark of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Church in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

    • The pool is for everyone. We needed to check, monitor, and watch our children near the pool.
    • We could not purchase alcoholic beverages and cigarettes inside the resort due to prohibition.
    • We could only eat our food at our rented cottages.

So, what are we waiting for? We must pack our things and visit Nasuli Cold Spring Resort at Barangay Bangcud, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

SANSVILLS Café: Celebrating the local delights

This puzzling photo requires you to speculate. You may ask yourselves where you see this. And then, you imagine. Are you thinking of South Korea, or perhaps, somewhere else. You may then argue that this featured place is outside of Misamis Oriental or outside of the Philippines. Well, if you try to come to see it, then you can probably say that you are still in Misamis Oriental.

The location of Sanvills Café is at Claveria Road, Barangay Lunotan, Civoleg, Gingoog City. It can be an ordinary ride if you go to Gingoog City. However, this time your trip appears to be magical as the heavy fog attempts to cloud the place. It surely is cold around there.

Sanvills Café is the best place to stopover for all-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I bet you like coffee very much to go against the cold environment. Well, if you like Latte Cappuccino, Brew, Espresso, and Americano, then you are in the right place.

Moreover, Sansvills Café fascinates travelers from all over the places in Misamis Oriental since the area is a great spot for cool weather to enjoy with a hot cup of coffee at hand. Now, if you wish to travel back and forth from Claveria to Gingoog City, why not just drop by and say hello to our friends at Sanvills Café.

Indeed, the place makes you and me relish more than a few of the local delights and coffee varieties even more. Well, please check all photographs taken by Kentot Travels via ExploreMisOr.

Lantawanan Beach Resort: A quest to unwind

The stress is on. It is difficult for you to reconcile. You then try to imagine the common fever – face mask here, face shield there, and what-not! Stressful to think, you cannot just yell on top of your lungs or even post some foul language and expression on social media. Once you do, you can be penalized. So, you try to zephyr your mouth and begin to think – why not just go somewhere.

Now, you are here at Purok 5 Sitio Magkot, Barangay Lanca, Mati City, Davao Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines. It is fun. You travel so far away to unwind and even spend two or three days in Davao to remove hassle and stress. You can think now if lodging houses, inns, or hotels are open. Perhaps, you think to spend swimming overnight. Well, you do not want to think about it now. As long as step on your feet on the sand and in the water, you cannot complain. It feels magic that you cannot say a word.

The water is inviting. It fascinates you. Of course, you can tell if you visit there. To tell you based on other people’s experiences, the beach water captivates their hearts. So, none can complain or they are even under the hypnotic surroundings of Lantawanan Beach Resort.

Now, you want to go there with friends. Pack your bags including your snacks, swimming apparel, and what-not. Oh, did you say the entrance fee?

Well, there is no entrance fee. But, you can donate any amount. According to Mindanao Recreational Hub on its FB page, kamo na daw bahala kung pila ihatag ninyo sa management sa resort. In other words, your generosity matters at this point. However, it is fine. The management does not demand anything, only to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

Do not fret. You cannot find any cottages there. There isn’t one either if you try to find it even harder. Nevertheless, the beach water always calls you to take a plunge. When you go there, you feel like you are in Siargao.

The resort is clean. It has fine white sand. The crystal clear water truly enthralls you to dive and swim. As the wind gets cold and refreshing, you feel something fresh and comforting. Sabi nga nila – makatanggal daw sa stress. Well, that is so fantastic and pretty amazing remarks.

A nice visit to Lantawanan Beach Resort at Purok 5 Sitio Magkot, Barangay Lanca, Mati City, Davao Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines

Therefore, we have to go there now. We just take extra precautionary measures to consider the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Oh, you have to be careful of the rocks on the beach. Some friends of Misamis Oriental Journal say that you can slither on it if you do not pay attention.

At this point, we need to think about how to get there. Please follow some instructions to get to the tourist attraction in Davao:

    • From Davao City, take buses or rental vans to Barangay Lavigan, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. You just need 4-5 hours of travel.
    • From Tagum City, you can use your vehicle and take 3-4 hours of travel.
    • From Barangay Lavigan, you take 5-10 minutes to reach Camp Bernardino Resort. Then, turn left. Go straight ahead.
    • Just ask the locals to go there, but the tourism office can help.

At Club Tara Resort: Our memories stay forever

My visit to Surigao Del Norte was amazing. I did not have any powerful adjectives to describe the place and my experiences, but I had countless memories to share with my Misamis Oriental Journal readers. I had so much fun. It was because the place gave me excitement and fun and created great moments that I had to live forever. I could not tell other people enough about my experiences because those moments were unique for me to share. I could not even write them down on pieces of paper, back to back, since those memories would only overflow if I tried to string along with those words on the pages. That meant that my Club Tara Resort experience opened my eyes to the opportunities to explore the world outside my comfort zone. When I got the chance to visit Club Tara Resort at Bucas Grande Island, Dona Helen, Socorro, Siargao Islands, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines, 84700, I just realized that I had so much fun managing my time to spend quality time with family members, loved ones, and friends. At Club Tara Resort, I could not ask for more.

A cool and refreshing cerulean-blue, crystal-clear water that attracts local and foreign tourists to dive into and swim in it…

At Club Tara Resort, I felt joy and love. Other tourists who spent their honeymoons in the hotels had celebrated affection and even happiness. The cerulean-blue, crystal-clear beach waters have been so inviting that my family members and I were unable to refuse that tourist attraction. Truly magnificent as it has been, Club Tara Resort, surrounded by woodland islets, has remained prestigious in its form. This cool resort embracing various channeled cottages that rested on columns and pillars over Sohoton Bay could be a one-minute walk from Sohoton Cove. I could surely imagine how I enjoyed swimming in the cool and refreshing waters without minding the sun’s rays that burst flames into the thin air.

As well, I could notice the serene rooms with a stress-free Filipino-style color scheme that would offer bay-view patios and verandas. I did not try the Jacuzzis, but others did. I could still have my drinks at the minibars, as well as my favorite brown tea in the coffee-making facilities. Oh, wait a minute. I did not have children, but kids under six years old could stay for free. One more thing, I could also bring this topic to my attention. The spartan, adults-only dorms in which they could accommodate 10 to 12 people to sleep could be possible. I could, furthermore, notice the bunk beds, shower rooms, and the chances to access a lounge, as well as the balconies to see the grandeur of the forest views, while waiting for the room service to come and to break the silence. All these things seemed to be fascinating.

An amazing aerial view of the Club Tara Resort and the surrounding woodland isles…

What’s more, I could mention these things, too. I could have a good breakfast before kayaking and snorkeling. Did I mention that Club Tara Resort has had a cafeteria, a pool with a bar, and a sequestered seaside with a jetty, as well as a swimming pool table and an orchard? Yes, I did. While promoting this place, I should mention that Club Tara Resort has had free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, air-conditioned, room service, child friendly, and a restaurant. In the end, people asked me if I enjoyed my visit to Club Tara Resort a lot. I surely said that I did.

Indeed, if we wished to create meaningful and sweet memories again, we could call or send a message through the mobile phone dial +63 917 522 5500. We knew we had to spend meaningful and quality time with family members and friends. We should not say that we have had so much to do in life and that we have had no time at all. We have spent our time working in the office or wherever we might be. It would be about time to be happy…

Alalum Falls: Revisiting Bukidnon’s Pride

Alalum falls gives a towering 148-foot high cascading water near the main road. Bordered by the lush undergrowth with a viewing deck, Alalum Falls in Kisolon, Sumilao in Bukidnon attracts us with wonder. It positions itself along the highway between Impasug-ong and Sumilao municipalities. According to the narratives given by some local residents, Alalum falls was once the soaring waterfall and the  iconic holidaymaker destination of Bukidnon Province. However, things have changed. The place does not receive any tourists. It becomes deserted, ignored but never remembered.

As well, Alalum falls fascinates local tourists. Its splendid view and its single-layered cascades of water with a hollow and spherical water basin offer us cold and refreshing water. Local tourists must know that the water from Alalum falls stems from natural springs. It comes from the upland of Kitanglad Mountain Range that flows through a linkage of rivers and watercourses toward Tagoloan River before draining to Macajalar Bay. Tourists may ask the legend of Alalum falls or wonder where the name Alalum derives. Legend has it that the name Alalum means “madalum” or “malalum” to meaning “deep.” This description focuses on the depth of the water basin of Alalum Falls.

On the contrary, the Sumilao government built a view deck beside the highway. It then established a flight of steps trajectory bound for the base of the cascade. However, the parts of the trail get damaged and confront the state of ruins because of corrosion and abandonment. Even if this situation happens for Alalum Falls, it remains magnificent and pleasant notwithstanding its current state. Moreover, people think of it as a pretty amazing location due to its accessibility. Sadly, this place remains concealed or off-the-radar site from tourists.

To visit the place, please contact Sumilao Tourism Office, Sumilao, Bukidnon.
