Midway Beach: A resort location like no other

Traveling to places far from home has always been exciting and engaging. We may not know the kind of fun we encounter in the area. Of course, I am not telling you about a gothic horror story in a movie. It is not just like that. What I am telling you about is a kind of stirring encounter with stunning beaches and resorts and activities.

The Place

The gorgeous Midway Beach in Initao, Misamis Oriental has been drawing local and foreign holidaymakers alike. Known as one of the best tourist destinations in the province, Midway Beach brings us peace and solitude. The moment we spend on the beach can be identical to the time when we want to unwind from the long-winding stress due to unemployment, quarantine protocols, pandemic crisis, and uncertainty. However, Midway Beach washes those types of stress away.

A photo taken from Wheretotakepictures.Com gives us a picture-perfect sunset that gives us time to think and unwind…

The Perks

Well, we cannot ignore this. The management of Midway Beach serves good food for our taste. For example, we can request for shrimps being dipped in a hot chili sauce with atchara on the side, hot and spicy ceviche, chicken adobo, and more, or we can choose from the variety of good food from the menus. Besides, Midway Beach has a nice view from the huts and lodges to the beach waters during daytimes and twilights. Now, if we ask for an overnight stay, we can book it in advance.

How To Get There

Going to Midway Beach is easy. If we are in some parts of Mindanao, we can choose Cagayan de Oro as our point of origin. From Cagayan de Oro, we can hire vans and taxis or ask Magnum Radio for the means of transportation going to Initao. Magnum Radio has taxis and vans for various rides. With that in mind, we can guarantee everyone that we have plenty of taxis in Cagayan de Oro.

A photo taken by Verano Natad gives us a suitable location to take some pictures and post them on social media platforms…

Extra Words

To be sure, we need to ask the local tourism office. Perhaps, this office can give us the best and safest trip. Also, we can ask the locals for tour guides. We, as well, can check the website from wheretotakepictures.com and give credits to it for more details. Or perhaps, we can use our Google Maps or smartphone to check where to go through the use of GPS or something. At this point, enjoy traveling.

Hugo Sky Lounge: A paragliding of a lifetime

Have we skipped Cagayan de Oro for another magnificent adventure? Maybe, we have overlooked that. We have been very busy planning for our adventures in the coolest and most refreshing destinations in the country. Since domestic flights are open now, we have been drawn to travel to the best places and most alluring locations that the Philippines has to offer. And yet, we have forgotten a paradise in the megalopolis where we realize we have never been there before. For us, Hugo Sky Lounge at Amaya View in Cagayan de Oro has always been a paradise. We may wonder why we call it a paradise when the place is in the metropolis. Well, if we try to imagine the term “metropolitan area,” we come to think of the following words, such as busy, chaotic, dull, frantic, ghastly, and hassle. And yes, we are correct. However, we all have the options to take. We just need to go somewhere, very near, that we can appreciate and experience the goodness of life amidst the present global health crisis.

Setting our paragliding adventure here at Hugo Sky Lounge in Amaya View, CDO

Paragliding at Hugo Sky Lounge in Amaya View truly activates our spirits. It gives us a sense of competitive adventure and the recreational sport of flying paragliders. We can be paragliders if we want to paraglide. We just have to decide. However, how can we resist paragliding when we feel like doing it? We just need to feel the wind as we try to fly freely. By flying, we can float, flounce, and sashay into the vastness of the stratosphere. With or without paragliders with us, we can still enjoy the foot-launched glider aircraft with no unbending main organization.

At Hugo Sky Lounge, we take an adventure of a lifetime. Are we going to skip this adventure again? Of course, we aren’t. We just have to plan this thing right and buckle up with our paraphernalia.

Oh, do you know where Amaya View is? Please check the information below.

Besigan Falls: A cascade of water to plunge

Finding the best place to dive, plunge, and swim seems exciting in Besigan Falls. We may question why it is exciting; however, we can only confirm it because of its convenience and location. Well, Besigan Falls is just a fifteen-minute hike or walk from Besigan Elementary School. Also, local trekkers know where Besigan is. It is a barangay in the city of Cagayan de Oro with more than 1,670 inhabitants according to the 2015 Census. In other words, this unexplored and important place represents 0.25% of the total population of Cagayan de Oro. Records from the Local Government Units (LGU) provide a surprising piece of information that the population of Besigan grows from 377 in 1990 to 1,673 in 2015 as mentioned on Philatlas.Com. For 25 years, Besigan grows and inhabits 1,296 people based on the 2015 Census. Wikipedia, an online dictionary and source of information, gives details of Besigan, which positions itself at approximately 8.2647, 124.5557 in the abundant island of Mindanao. Vacationers know that the elevation at these coordinates will be at the estimates of 390.4 meters above sea level.

A Curve Ahead on Besigan Road by Datu Cordoba

As well, the adjacent barangays of Besigan share a common border with San Isidro, Talakag, Bukidnon; Rogongon, Iligan; Barangay 3 (Poblacion), Talakag, Bukidnon; Barangay 1 (Poblacion), Talakag, Bukidnon; Barangay 5 (Poblacion), Talakag, Bukidnon; Tignapoloan, Cagayan de Oro; and Dansolihon, Cagayan de Oro according to Philatlas.Com. This place gives new hope to holidaymakers who work hard to promote local tourism and to improve the area. Mr. Datu Cordoba, a cacao farmer from Cagayan de Oro and an acquaintance on Facebook, introduces the magical and wonderful area to the local tourists. The green grass along the roads and the cold atmosphere in the area give us a simple, yet happy adventure to see the cascading waters of Besigan Falls.

Walking down on the Misty Road of Besigan by Datu Cordoba

Oh, how do we get there? Some people are asking where to go to this awesome place to dive. They cannot just resist going to the calm, cool, and refreshing waterfalls hidden somewhere in the borders. The misty road going to the area evokes memories of the silence of life and love. The misty road appears looks surreal. Such a setting reminds us to take our childhood dreams and wishes back in time. Since the place is new, we can go directly to Besigan Elementary School and find someone who can help us tour around. We know we like this. Well, this place seems inviting.

Tinago Falls: Iligan City’s hidden wealth to see

Iligan City’s waterfall pride gives us an exciting wet adventure. Wikipedia, which is an open dictionary, provides us the location of Tinago Falls. Bloggers, as well as vloggers, mention that the cascades of water of Tinago Falls on the Agus River fall in between the town of Linamon and Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte. Local travelers and holidaymakers know that this place is in the northern part of Mindanao in the Philippine islands and that they love the location where they can spend their long weekend adventure. Tinago Falls appears to be the City of Majestic Waterfalls and one of the significant tourist attractions of Linamon town or Iligan City.

Despite the odds in the world today, we can still find joy in nature…

We may be wondering where we get the term “Tinago.” Well, “Tinago” means “hidden” or “concealed,” which translates hidden falls for “Tinago Falls.” Based on the geographic location of the tourist spot, Tinago Falls is being hidden in a subterranean gorge in which all tourists and vacationers must go through roughly 500 zigzagging stairways. The descending steps toward the falls allow vacationers do their physical exercises by walking and make them keep this beautiful spot. This concealed tourist attraction, which is hidden from the strangers at first, slowly gains its guests and visitors. As well, only those who know the area and those who keep on visiting the place can enjoy the cold cascading waters. However, we need other people to visit the place and experience swimming. We can tell that Tinago Falls gives us an exciting feeling as we descend through the winding staircases into the calm and deep basin-like structure of the pool.

Surprisingly, we can witness the miracle of the place. The cerulean blue lagoon in the basin-like pool beautifully enchants us, as well as compels us to dive into it. A writer from Wikipedia mentions that the presence of a small cave veiled somewhere in the cascading waterfalls adds wonder of some legends and the unknown. As pointed out, tourists can listen to the echoing and reverberating waters as they enter into the cave.

Before we forget, we want our readers to know the location of Tinago Falls. They have to check the cavernous ravine in Barangay Ditucalan, Iligan City where they can find the dropping waters from the falls that plunge 240 feet high from a cliff. This measure seems inviting that we can take our time partaking into and swimming in Iligan City’s best waterfall in the country. As one of the urban centers of Northern Mindanao, Iligan City becomes the metropolis of imposing and magnificent waterfalls like the well-known Maria Cristina Falls.

Embracing happiness with nature even keeps us going forward…

So, what are we waiting for? We need to check the Tourism Office of Iligan City if everything is set due to the changing guidelines and instructions from the local and national governments. Once all are set, we have to pack our things up, get ready for our swimming gear, and plunge into the cool and refreshing waterfalls.

Oh, how do we get there?

    • If we are from Luzon and Visayas, Laguindingan Airport gives us the best entry point. Laguindingan Airport provides us a comfortable and pleasurable trip to both cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro. From Laguindingan Airport, we can get a shuttle vehicle service to Iligan City. When we arrive, we can see various booths for the shuttle vehicle services like the Super 5 buses or vans to the city. We only need less than two hours for travel.
    • If we are from Cagayan de Oro City Proper, we have to head to Westbound Integrated Bus and Jeepney Terminal. We take the non-stop or not non-stop bus to Iligan City. We just need ₱150 plus or minus for bus fare.

Sinulom Falls: A hidden treasure of nature

We have been talking about Bolao Cold Spring lately. This time we need to mention Sinulom Falls since it is near the area. As well, Sinulom Falls gives us another exciting adventure. Exciting as it is, we can surely enjoy the running water from the Sinulom Falls itself. Well, we do not need to uncover the mystery of why this tourist spot has its unique name. We only need to unfold the truth that Sinulom Falls seems abundant in terms of water in which all people nearby choose to visit the area and take a dive into the water.

We will realize that Sinulom Falls has 28 waterfalls. Before this flowing water reaches Cagayan de Oro to be called Cagayan de Oro River, we can take a glimpse of the eye-catching water and plunge. As nature lovers, we appreciate the areas as it offers us the lavish green landscape that adjoins the place. To imagine it now, we think we make a picnic and adventure into the deep forest.

Visiting Sinulom Falls and Enjoying it Right Here can be Fun…

As well, Sinulom Falls offers us opportunities to discard pressure and stress. It relaxes our minds as we walk into the destination and step into the rocks. As we head down and tread on the crystal clear waters, our feet and toes begin to relax as the cold water attempts to ease the stress of our legs. We can imagine we stroll around the place where we take our family members and friends to experience and witness the lush green venue for relaxation.

Additionally, Sinulom Falls is seen along Talakag, Bukidnon. However, it is best viewed in Tinagpoloan, Cagayan de Oro. According to a source, the owner of the land of Sinulom Falls is Councilor Jay Roa Pascual. To avoid confusion, Sinulom Falls lies within San Isidro, Talakag, Bukidnon, but the entrance to go there is Barangay Tinagpoloan, Cagayan de Oro.

Enchanting Flowing Water that Relaxes your Feet and Toes

Moreover, we have more options to go to Sinulom Falls. We get there by jeepney or van. However, we better go there using a private vehicle. It seems pretty convenient to use private vehicles to avoid any hullabaloo. However, if we use our vehicles, we make sure that we use a four-by-four (4×4) pick-up type with spiked tires since going to the place appears to be murky when it rains. We can also use our four-by-two (4×2) vehicle if we want; however, we need to leave it at the basketball court.

Finally, we need to prepare some amount of money for the expenses. One website can give us more details. To be sure, we can check out the Happy Trip Website.
