Months ago, my friends invited me to go to Claveria. I asked them why I had to go to Claveria where I could spend my days and nights at home. The physical distancing regulations and the stay-at-home policies were underway, and these rules compelled me to remain immobile. Of course, I was afraid that police officers would catch me in the open when my only reason for going out was to have some fun. I knew police officers would be mad at me knowing that I would only find places to enjoy while the rest were struggling and suffering from the crisis. Besides, fines, once being caught, were high. As a result, I had to stay at home and waited for the COVID-19 pandemic to subside.

Conversely, the pandemic has been plaguing the country and the world as well. It has been pushing me to extend my patience. It made me feel even sicker and more bored than usual. Some of my friends back home died because of depression, mental torture, and stress. Without anything on a table due to no food, no job, and no medicine and without any support from the government, some of my friends perished. They died in vain. Even if the national government and the local government helped the people, there were a few officials who failed to show compassion and humanity. They supported their rich friends, or they only helped those people whom they knew. Anyway, I should move on to the present situation. I had to change my perspective in life. I could not turn back times, and we have been in this together. So, I took my chances to go outside and to enjoy just a little bit. I put my face mask on, wore my eyeglasses, and packed all my traveling apparels. Then, I contacted other friends to fetch me. Here they came. With their traveling garments on, we rode in a rented van going to Claveria to try to eliminate the stress and unwind just a little bit.

Traveling has been fun. It seemed that my friends and I just traveled back in time. While traveling, I let go of my musings that evoked my childhood experiences. However, I managed to return to my realities when other friends told me that we were in Claveria then. Yes, we were in Claveria. With more than a few minutes of traveling down the road to Claveria’s main site, we gladly reached it. Then, we head to Janopolan Nature Spring and Pool to Jaco’s Stopover, Claveria View Deck, and then awesome place Don Narciso Café. I felt impressed and overwhelmed seeing the panoramic view. Claveria’s mountainous site and its cold and freezing atmosphere permitted us to get off the van. So, we stopped right there, ordered some delicious and nutritious food, and got amazed by the splendor of the overlooking and mountainous area.

Additionally, Don Narciso Café has been awe-inspiring. Its food service, food taste, and view did, however, spell magic in me. I just loved the food and the vista that other tourists adored. In the back of mind, I realized that the province of Misamis Oriental constantly charmed those local and foreign travelers with gripping tourist attractions. This province gave vacationers some stunning sites that showcased eye-catching destinations for travel. Just like other provinces and regions, local businesses and local governments worked hard to promote their provinces. This time, the management of Don Narciso Café thrived in promoting Claveria and Misamis Oriental as well. As a result, numerous motorists and holidaymakers, who took Route 955, could stopover at Don Narciso Café for breakfast meals and snacks. Spending our time with family members and friends seems fun. It appears even more appealing if we spend our memories with them on a classy, exquisite, impressive, and spectacular beach. As expected, we, of course, have to pay for the necessary charges for using the venues. Depending on the type of beach resorts whether sophisticated or simple, we have to spend our money on fun and excitement. However, we have so many things to learn about gimmicks and hangouts. We have to distinguish that we can relish things without spending much money. We can go to the beach for free. Does it sound strange?

After diving, we can pack our things up, get ready, and go home just as simple as that.

As well, the best thing to go to Jasaan Beach is to go there with family members and friends. Sometimes, we will take our loved ones and crushes there while enjoying the talking. Young adults who are in love may usually go there as their space to enjoy walking in nature. You only need to spread your carpet on the sand, lay down all your food stuff, and talk about anything under the sun. Since the place does not have cottages, we can only use the beach at our own risk. Sometimes, our friendly dogs nearby may snatch and steal our food products while we are busy swimming in the cool beach waters.

With all the pressure and strain we face every day, we have so much to do to take care of ourselves. Certain groups of biking aficionados, for instance, have recently taken the challenge to go mountain biking or even highland walking to defy the odds of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of them take a fresh adventure to some places they keep on visiting. Of course, we can confirm that the Philippines has a lot to offer. In Mindanao, for example, we can cherry-pick various stunning spots that accommodate us all to experience some promising adventures and once-in-a-life-time opportunities. In Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines, we do have numerous sites that give us some exciting group-hangout escapades. Aside from the different locations for us to get our bikes, biking paraphernalia, and trekking shoes ready, we need to save our energy to the newly-found nirvana so that we can have our strong limbs to commence on a journey of a lifetime.

An Excitement We Can Never Forget at Sebu’s Haven in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental

One of the best spots to take our adventures today is Sebu’s Haven. Well, the name sounds bizarre, but yes, it is Sebu’s Haven. Local tourists, holidaymakers, and weekend trekkers know that Sebu’s Haven is in Rosario, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. We can get to the Santa Ana Road and then make a demanding mountainous trip to the fresh, lofty, and soaring spot of Sebu’s Haven. Along the way, we may encounter a bumpy ride due to rough roads nearby after the edge of the concrete pavement. Toward the uphill and downhill sections of the road, we experience something new and somewhat magical – magic of an amazing adventure that we often think we have to do it over and over again. While trekking toward the Sebu’s Haven landscape, we can also experience the dreamlike scenery in a movie of the area’s bracing and invigorating view, the considerable fog and mist, and the refreshing breeze of the seasons. This experience is what we want, right? Well, we are not talking about getting lost in life. We are just talking about unwinding ourselves from the different forms of stress at home, at work, and in the community. As well, we just need to forget about the daily hullabaloos and the prison-like stay-at-home and physical distancing policies. We are not complaining about such circumstances, but we have to limber up and get into the swing of our stress, as well as get revitalized just a little bit.

Get Caught in the Hand of Something Magical at Sebu’s Haven in Tagoloan

Additionally, the next time we set our adventures, we just prioritize Sebu’s Haven. We do not mind the hubbub and trouble of going there – the rough roads and the bumpy rides; we just have to let things happen. Anyway, it is our adventure, not theirs. Therefore, we set our plans if we want, pack our things up, wear our gear on, and drive and trek to Sebu’s Haven. Everyone, including our special friend Riza Bade and her friends, has been there. We even ask her to use her photos with friends since her friends have a good grasp of the camera. Like the joy that Riza Bade and her friends attain, we, too, can experience the joy and miracle of nature. When we get there, we bet that we very much like the topography of the site.

Entrance Fee Rate

Oh, did we miss something? Yes, we did. We have to pay for the entrance fee (per head) for only ₱20.00. It does not have any cottage for now; however, the management has been working for it to be made available for overnight sojourns and camping activities. The best part of this adventure is that we get to know ourselves and that we spend our time with friends and loved ones.

Heading to the Location

We have to know that the exact address of Sebu’s Haven is at Brgy. Rosario, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Mindanao. From the junction of Tagoloan National Highway to Santa Cruz Road, we only take more or less 11.5 kilometers to reach the destination. If we go there by car from Cagayan de Oro, we take the Tagoloan National Highway-Santa Ana-Malitbog roads. In the distance, we turn left at the junction of Barangay Rosario. Well, we can take the route with Waze or Google Maps to set our destination to Sebu’s Haven. If we go there by public utility vehicle (PUV) from Cagayan de Oro, we just take a PUV going to Santa Ana-Tagoloan Liner. Please check the jeepney’s signboard. Then, get off the PUV and from Rosario Barangay Road, climb or go straight to an uphill rough road that leads to the site. Probably, if we want to take the motorcycles locally known as “habal-habal” from Sta. Cruz Junction, it will be better as that drive directly leads to the site.

A Few Reminders

We make sure that our adventures are safe and sound. As we take our camping and traveling route, we must be careful with the steep road ahead. We are advised to use motorcycles or mountain trekking vehicles like the 4×4 car due to the road conditions. As suggested, we just need to visit the place in the course of sunny days. We know that the road will get muddy and slimy when rainy days come. We just need to travel safely during the sunny season. When we decide to get there, we need to travel during daylight since the place gets pretty dark during night time. Additionally, we extend our patience as we always have to give our way  toward the area since a few travelers, also, take their trips there. Moreover, we just need to buy our own food and drinks since we cannot find any corner shops, food shops, or restaurants available in the area. Oh, before we forget, we must leave our vehicles down the road, particularly at the end of the concrete pavement. Remember the rough and steep roads? In this case, we just have to trudge upfront to the area.
