Agutayan Island: A sanctuary to visit

Are you up to traveling somewhere out-of-the-way and serene? If you are, you can go to Agutayan Island, a sandbar that houses valuable marine species. And you know where it is, right? It is off the shoreline of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental. Agutayan Island as an undressed island is 40-minutes away from the Jasaan highway. This island as a sandbar with its hemispherical shape is desolate. It only displays seaweeds, starfish varieties, and urchins, as well as the abundance of marine creatures. Indeed, this island holds its shallow coral reef that enthralls some eagle rays, kinds of surgeonfish, and other marine creatures.

Agutayan Island is a good place for snorkeling. You can do beach activities, as well. The two structures on the island, such as the guardhouse and the lighthouse, are two indicating constructions to serve as landmarks in the area. Spring View Resort: A place for us to chill out

Traveling around the different places in the country seemed to be my cup of tea. Incapable to pay for my transnational travels, I rather chose to stay local. Besides, my parents didn’t want me to travel internationally. Scared of strangers in the middle of nowhere, my parents want me to avoid meeting and talking to strangers. Talking to strangers, for them, would be weird. Under no circumstances, I opted to follow them. And yes, they, perhaps, were right.

So, I listed some of my favorite tourist destinations in the country. I started listing some sites in the Luzon region. Then, I succeeded in writing more about the places in the Visayas region. I could not forget Coron and El Nido, Palawan. How could I ignore the beautiful and instagrammable sites in the Mindanao region? Something came to mind though. I rather chose Misamis Oriental. Numerous resorts in the province sprouted to give tourists some attractions. My inability to make trips to the expensive sites compelled me to stay confined. And, I was right. Misamis Oriental has so much to offer.

At some point, the COVID-19 pandemic destroyed me. I lost my job. I didn’t know when to end this pandemic. The impact wasn’t right. I lost everything. So, I had to drop a few classy and exclusive tourist spots in those places. In this way, I had to stay homegrown.

This time, the COVID-19 pandemic changed my routine. Travel restrictions took place. I could not travel from provinces to provinces. As well, the best thing to go to Jasaan Beach is to go there with family members and friends. Sometimes, we will take our loved ones and crushes there while enjoying the talking. Young adults who are in love may usually go there as their space to enjoy walking in nature. You only need to spread your carpet on the sand, lay down all your food stuff, and talk about anything under the sun. Since the place does not have cottages, we can only use the beach at our own risk. Sometimes, our friendly dogs nearby may snatch and steal our food products while we are busy swimming in the cool beach waters.
