From the Era of Viruses to the Flight to Mars

The world, surely at present, is in shock. To consider the longstanding COVID-19 pandemic, we are certain that we get panicked. We are in danger of acquiring, time and again, some diseases, such as Ebola, smallpox, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, shingles, hepatitis, herpes, and cold sores, polio, rabies, and Hanta fever that can affect us. The recurrence of African swine fever (ASF) and variants of viruses, as well, generates horrors in the world. It even leaves us to suffer from extreme poverty and what-not. As this era of viruses destroys the economy, we only face the dangers that we ourselves master of our own extinction. Or else, we force ourselves to leave Earth.  

Viruses are real. They come from these mysterious elements that surely affect us. If no people create and design the viruses, then many of us think that these viruses occur due to extreme ecological conditions, such as air pollution and other accumulated toxic materials from the inner and outer space. We know of the various factories, such as petroleum, plastic, and others that endanger lives. However, we do not take precautionary measures. We only speculate the reasons behind this economic and political melodrama. What we know is that air pollution, as well as other ecological problems, is present. The contributing factors of air pollution, such as airplanes, cars, and trains, as well as factories, prove to be the sources of air pollution. Of course, we do not want to be scientific; however, we can say that air pollution because of airplanes, cars, and trains is feasible. So, viruses exist elsewhere.

However, this statement is only an opinion. The idea of this writing does not wish to influence readers. It only asks other factors that contribute to the presence of the viruses, such as COVID-19 and ASF. Besides, numerous people grow agitated at this time due to the emergence of different viruses elsewhere one after another. As the growth and the problem of the viruses continue to expand, are we ready to depart, move, and take some month-long trips to Mars?

Conversely, billionaire Elon Musk serves as the only person who wants to save humanity from the impending destruction. He breaks the limits of science and technology and works hard to cross the edges and rims of human intelligence. As he spearheads TESLA, SpaceX, and Boring Company, he only proves that he can preserve humanity at best while leaving those who cannot afford to make trips to Mars.

Furthermore, people may ask why the viruses have become prominent now and why Elon Musk has announced his plan to go to Mars in 2024. It may be a coincidence though to think; however, it proves a point that the world is not safe anymore. Are people safe from deceit, greed, and lawlessness? Of course, people are not safe anymore. In other words, the world is no longer safe from corruption, dishonesty, falsehood, greed, political drama, and propaganda.

In the end, people need to consider the possibilities of change. Are all these things that are happening now real? Are COVID-19, ASF, and more tangible than we think? People die of hunger and other health complications because they are afraid of going to hospitals and malls. How close are we or how far are we from the truth? We just do not know. What we do not know is that someone must take a stand to solve these problems. We need a more realistic solution – answer without lies. If people continue to lie for the sake of their personal interests and political agenda, we better take some excursions to Mars.

Social Distancing Protocols: Senator Manny Pacquiao’s Defense

The birthday bash of Senator Manny Pacquiao held in General Santos City rained comments and news about the physical or social distancing protocols.

According to an article, “Mañanita Part 2: Pacquiao Defends Absence of Physical Distancing in a Birthday Bash,” from a website named coconut, the birthday party maddened many Filipinos. The photos of the birthday get-together uploaded by Jinkee Pacquiao became a social media epidemic. As seen in the photos, angered Filipinos accused him of infringing on the social distancing procedures.

Senator Manny Pacquaio as the lawmaker spoke about the birthday photos that stormed across social media. The lawmaker explained about the photos and said that they entertained friends at the event. He said that his visitors were negative for COVID-19’s RT-PCR tests.

As well, the attendees of Senator Manny Pacquiao’s birthday party tested negative in the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests (RT-PCR). Would this situation suggest that attendees could attend the birthday with or without those face masks and face shields?

Senator Manny Pacquiao confidently said that General Santos City has been under the modified general quarantine (MGQ) during the COVID-19 pandemic season. It would mean that MGQ would permit any mass gatherings while guaranteeing 50% of attendees in the seating capacity of the venue.

Additionally, Senator Manny Pacquiao asserted that they cautiously organized the gathering. He wanted to make the party safe since his children would also be at the celebration. Since he didn’t want his children to get plague-ridden with the coronavirus, he required his children to wear masks during the event.

Moreover, Senator Manny Pacquiao as the lawmaker confirmed that all his guests took the RT-PCR test. However, experts contended that the RT-PCR test results would be unreliable. The unreliability of the test would take place if the test was taken directly after a person becomes infected. Experts confirmed that the best time to take the test would be about two to three days after symptoms appeared. On the other hand, administering the RT-PCR tests earlier than the suggested timetable would lead to a false-negative result.

In the end, Senator Manny Pacquaio argued that he didn’t infringe on the social distancing protocols. He cautiously organized the simple party.

How Has Been the Philippine Government Battling the COVID-19 Pandemic?

The Philippines has been one of the countries to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Its government has been implementing guidelines and regulations to administer rapid and swab tests and other types of medical examinations in particular. Along with the Department of Health, Inter-Agency Task Force, and other government agencies, the Philippine government has been integrating methods and procedures to combat the spread of the coronavirus. It has been promoting the self-quarantine strategy to flatten the curve of the coronavirus. Regardless of these health and medical actions, the task to curb the spread of COVID-19 has been hanging in the balance, which would be leading to question why the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic has been inflating and mounting exponentially.

The Philippine government has prompted the public to observe the established policies, such as social distancing policy, stay-at-home policy, no-face-mask-no-entry policy, hand-sanitizing-and washing policy, and more. It has imposed sanctions for those who infringed on the laws and rules by hook or by crook. Additionally, the local and national governments have exerted their effort plus initiative to create various ordinances to alleviate the spread of the coronavirus. In other words, the government has been working so hard to eliminate the pandemic.

Physical or Social Distance(ing) Policy

However, the Philippine government along with its agencies and departments has been trying to curb the spread of the virus. Since the lockdown or the “quarantine” days, the number of confirmed and infected patients has been expanding and snowballing exponentially. It has been widening its scope that would create alarms and warning signs of the problem. The Philippine government, along with the Department of Health and other agencies, has been working on its mission to stop the spread of the virus despite the extensive measures to include the contact tracing, rapid swabbing and testing, and other medical approaches and techniques. Despite all these, the question has been focusing on how the Philippine government has thrived in implementing its rules, as well as its strategies to curtail the COVID-19 pandemic.

What I Want After the COVID-19 Pandemic

I am writing this to think of the possibilities to happen in life after the pandemic, only if time allows.

I want a time reset. I never want all things to go back to the way they were. I only need to reset the time to remove all my worries – my credit cards, car loans, mortgage loans, and others.

I want the loan sharks to stop collecting payments for my debts for home appliances, laptops, smartphones, and the like.

I want the local and national government to give the last wave of the stimulus checks or SAP assistance as a start to have a new life. Also, I want the government to include all people when it delivers this assistance. I mean, I want the government to consider all people without choosing its recipients – all people, such as the poor and the middle class, not just only the poorest

Additionally, I want to have a new loved one whom I can spend time for the rest of my life.

I want to have a new house. I just got bored looking at the four corners of the room throughout the pandemic. I want to have a new car for a new line of business, like restaurants or any dry goods.

I want to study at a cutting-edge school, to meet an ultramodern teacher, and socialize with productive classmates. I want to have new environments and new people.

Moreover, I want to have a new job whether a part-time, or a full-time job. I want to earn money since all my resources just get vanished throughout the pandemic.

Then, I want to have new officemates. I do not want to work with people who usually talk about politically charged opinions and views.

I want to live and ask for a new policy or a new rule. I want more freedom to speak as long as I do not hurt others. I want to express my opinions and thoughts without charging me for cyber libel.

I want to be who I am – free from the dictate of society.

What is more, I want to have a new neighbor. It is because I am getting bored and sick at those people who always spend their seconds, minutes, hours, and days talking to their fellow gossipers.

I want to be with new friends. I just want a new life in which I can breathe freely, smell fresh air again, and remove my facial mask. I want to be in the group without hearing any reminder of the social distancing policy.

I want to be with others – the ones who care. I just do not want to stay at home anymore. Staying at home makes me feel like a toy in a box.

I just want to walk freely without being asked for my travel authority – travel passes or quarantine passes.

I just want to be happy. I just want to live my worry-free life after the COVID-19 pandemic.
